PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has returned back to Cambodia after a week away attending the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, paying an official state visit to the Republic of Cuba, and attending the state funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, in Tokyo, Japan.

The Prime Minister returned home safely this Wednesday afternoon, after completing his mission in three countries. He departed from the airport in Tokyo, Japan early in the morning and arrived in Cambodia around 3 PM local time.

From 21-23 September, Prime Minister Hun Sen attended the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York city, held under the theme "A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges.”

The Prime Minister then took a three-hour flight from New York to the Republic of Cuba on 23 September, to make an official visit to the country and strengthen existing ties. The Prime Minister's last visit to Cuba was in 2000.

Finally, on 26 September, Prime Minister Hun Sen traveled to Tokyo, Japan, where he stayed for two nights to attend the funeral of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. During his time in Japan, the Cambodian Prime Minister also met up with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
